A poem by Marathi poet Justice Dhondo Vasudeo Gadre (no relation of mine), penned sometime in late 1950s.

The poem is titled 'The Law of the World' and the poet describes how the poor and the downtrodden get a raw deal, citing examples from nature. Sheep, calf, cow, those who do not have a savior, get slaughtered by a butcher, but no one dare go to the forest to butcher a lion! Such is the law of this world.
